Energy project developer Balance Power has appointed Ryan Macindoe as its planning manager.

Macindoe will be responsible for delivering planning consents for the company’s pipeline of renewable energy projects. He will also work closely with stakeholders to provide more certainty and unblock barriers within the planning process.

Macindoe said: “We need to make it easier for consumers and businesses to choose clean energy; I’m looking forward to delivering sustainable projects that make a real impact to the local surroundings, communities, and the UK’s energy transition.”

Phil Thompson, CEO of Balance Power, says: “The UK planning system is very sophisticated, but barriers within the planning process cause unnecessary and costly delays to the roll out of energy projects which would supply more renewable energy to homes and power-intensive businesses. Ryan’s expertise and cross-sector knowledge will bolster our in-house capability and help us to deliver maximum impact for the planet and our partners.”
