Emma Cooper / Scottish Land Commission [square]The Scottish Land Commission has appointed Emma Cooper as head of land rights and responsibilities.

Her work will involve spearheading the organisation’s work to shape change on the ground to ensure more people benefit from Scotland’s land.

Formerly CEO of Scottish Rural Action, Cooper will lead work to support the practical implementation of the Scottish Government’s Land Rights and Responsibilities Statement (LRRS).

The LRRS is the first of its kind anywhere in the world and it applies to all urban and rural land, buildings and other infrastructure in Scotland. The Scottish Land Commission said it underpins its work to promote change and set expectations for the way land is owned and used.
