Environmental consultancy appoints principal planner
Environmental, planning and engineering company Arcus Consultancy Services has appointed Tim Wheeler, as it looks to further strengthen its planning appeals services.
He has 35 years of experience in planning and development, particularly in onshore wind, offshore wind and solar. He joins as a principal planner from the Planning Inspectorate, where he determined more than 150 planning appeals.
Wheeler previously worked with major renewable energy developers, a private consultancy and other UK Government agencies. He also has experience in other commercial sectors such as housing.
The consultancy has also appointed Marc Browne as offshore development manager, who has 15 years of experience across various marine sectors.
Arcus specialises in the renewable energy sector, ranging from wind farms, solar plants, battery storage facilities, gas to grid systems and hydrogen schemes.
Managing director Greg Shillabeer, who set up the York-headquartered business in 2006, commented: “As the renewable energy sector continues to grow and develop, we are keen to ensure our clients have access to the very best technical expertise. We have ambitious plans for the next five years in terms of turnover and growth. Appointing talented and experienced people like Tim and Marc, whilst supporting the development of our existing team, is tremendously important to our business.”
