EPR appoints principal ecological consultant

Barney Scott  [square]Ecological Planning & Research (EPR) has appointed Barney Scott as principal ecological consultant.

Scott joins from multi-disciplinary environmental and engineering consultancy Jacobs, having worked in its ecology department for more than nine years.

At EPR he will manage and oversee a range of projects, including residential and commercial developments; energy and infrastructure projects; and will help to deliver evidence based, pragmatic solutions for its clients.

Scott holds Natural England Class Survey licences for bats, Great Crested Newts and Hazel Dormice.

Ben Kite, managing director of EPR, said: “Barney is joining the team at an immensely exciting time for the business and industry. With government policy moving towards requiring development to play its part in tackling the biodiversity crisis, we are seeing increasing numbers of forward-thinking developers and landowners seizing the opportunities presented by integrating biodiversity into their developments.”
