Historic England appoints two regional directors
Historic England has appointed two regional directors to oversee activity including planning advice, grants and listing.

Tom Frater joins as regional director for the North East and Yorkshire in July. Over the next year Frater’s role will focus on demonstrating how heritage can contribute to levelling up through schemes such as the 12 High Street Heritage Actions Zones in the North East and Yorkshire.
He qualified as a solicitor with city firm Hogan Lovells, gaining experience in public law and judicial review, before moving into public policy with the Civil Service Fast Stream.
