Howes Percival has appointed planning partner Marco Mauro to its planning law team.

Mauro joins with associate solicitor Daniel Giblett and trainee Olivia Angier, who will qualify as an associate solicitor in September.

Previously head of planning at his former firm in the East Midlands, Mauro’s practice spans the Central, Home Counties, the Midlands and beyond. He brings more than 17 years of experience in planning, including complex planning obligations, infrastructure agreements, due diligence on transactions, and legal oversight of planning applications, appeals, and judicial reviews.

Jay Mehta, head of planning, highlighted the evolving nature of planning legislation and the Labour government's plans to streamline rules to boost housing and infrastructure development. He noted that environmental issues have recently hindered development, increasing the planning law team's importance in navigating these challenges for clients.
