Stefano D’Ambrosio [square]Law firm Irwin Mitchell has appointed Stefano D’Ambrosio to its planning and environment team to advise on environmental law.

D’Ambrosio is dual-qualified as a solicitor in the United Kingdom and as a lawyer in Peru, where he practised law for around seven years.

He has expertise in assisting on all stages of environmental impact assessment processes, the development of environmental due diligence and permit applications. He is experienced in dealing with mines and minerals regulations.

During his career, D’Ambrosio has dealt with cases concerning air pollution prevention, water pollution prevention, contaminated lands, waste management and environmental permits.

Claire Petricca- Riding, head of planning and environment at Irwin Mitchell, said: “Stefano’s environmental law credentials are a great boost to the team. We are seeing a growing number of enquiries from our clients on environmental issues and as the environment bill makes its way through Parliament and in the run up to COP26, it is clear these issues are here to stay. Stefano’s experience mean we have increased the capacity to deal with such issues for our clients and provides a unique global perspective which we are seeing as an increasing concern.

“Our clients are keen to learn more about emissions and the impact of the ESG and climate change agendas, particularly those in the manufacturing and development sector. We hope to recruit further lawyers such as Stefano with expertise in this growing area.”
