Marrons Planning hires economics director

Dan Usher [square]Marrons Planning has appointed Dan Usher as economics director in London.

Usher spent more than 11 years at Barton Willmore, now Stantec, where he worked his way up from senior planner to development economics associate. Prior to this, he spent six years as a planning officer in numerous local authorities in Sussex.

He will work across all housing sectors utilising demographic evidence to add value to client developments nationwide across all different local authority levels.

Usher said: “In the past, socio-economics has often been thought of as a dark arts within the industry, but it is really powerful and robust information that can be drawn out to support the planning process. Clients are beginning to see and understand the value of this data and there is growing demand as a result.

“I am looking forward to establishing our socio-economics offer nationally by building a strong reputation and well-respected team that adds value to the planning strategy of clients.”
