Giulio Ferrini [square]Sustrans has appointed Giulio Ferrini its new head of built environment in its London office.

Ferrini previously worked at JMP Consultants and Systra, where he designed and delivered a range of transport projects for private and public sector clients across London and the South East.

In his new role, he will lead engineers and designers to create environments that enable people to choose walking and cycling as their top transport choices for short journeys.

Ferrini said: “People, along with their needs, health and happiness, need to be at the heart of planning decisions. I am passionate about designing infrastructure to create liveable cities where people can choose to travel by bike or on foot, and seeing how this can really transform people’s lives for the better.”
