Working for us

We serve a population of around 100,000 residents and deliver a wide range of key services to our local communities.

Everyone in our team, whatever their role, contributes to delivering great services to our local community.

We are proud to support people’s daily lives by providing a range of services that touch everyone - from emptying people’s bins and recycling their waste, through to keeping our streets and open spaces clean and tidy.

We also provide a range of specialised services to residents and businesses, including providing benefits to those who need extra financial support, processing and overseeing local planning applications, and delivering a range of good value leisure services to help our residents get more active more often.

Our team is at the very heart of our council – we recognise that together with our elected members, we make the difference to our local communities. We are dedicated to staff development and individual success within a team framework. To help our staff deliver, we provide a supportive work environment and work to help everyone achieve their potential, whilst enjoying a positive work-live balance.

We are on an exciting organisational transformation journey that aims to modernise our services and the way we work, to ensure that, despite a reduction in government funding, we can continue to deliver the first class services our communities deserve.
