Anna Rose has been appointed as the head of the Planning Advisory Service (PAS).

Rose, who will begin in the role on 21 August 2017, is taking over from Alice Lester.

Lester will be taking up a planning role with Brent Council.

Rose became head of planning and culture at Rugby Borough Council in 2007, where she had responsibility for economic development, sports and arts as well as planning.

In November 2014, she moved to Milton Keynes Council, where she is currently the director of growth, economy and culture.

Stephen Parker, PAS chairman, said: “Anna is well respected within the planning community and her wealth of knowledge, skills and expertise will be invaluable in continuing the great work of the PAS.”

Rose said: “This is a really exciting time to be heading up the PAS. Planning services are suffering from a lack of capacity and yet there is so much to do.

“I will work with the PAS team to provide resources that will free up time for planners to focus on the really important and interesting agenda we have to deliver.”
