Pegasus Group acquires Armstrong Burton Group

Pegasus Group has completed the acquisition of Armstrong Burton Group.

The architectural and engineering practice specialises in architecture, from masterplanning to technical design as well as structural and civil engineering. Founded originally in 1960 the business evolved into ABG in 1996, with the group’s work focusing primarily on the residential and care sectors.

Derek Burton, owner of Armstrong Burton, said: “This is a very positive change to be welcomed as it secures the long-term future for Armstrong Burton. It presents a tremendous opportunity for the technical skills delivered by Armstrong Burton to fully complement Pegasus Group’s expertise in planning and design.”

Burton will stay on at ABG during the transition period before retiring to France.

Tony Bateman, managing director of Pegasus Group, said: “This is an exciting acquisition for us because it complements the growth we want to achieve in our architectural work into the future.

“Armstrong Burton will continue to operate as they do now from their existing premises, but as part of the Pegasus Group. All 33 ABG employees will be retained in the deal.”

Pegasus Group has more than 320 staff operating from 14 offices across the UK and Ireland. The company’s services span the entire project process from site finding, acquisition and planning through to design and delivery, specialising in planning, design, environment, economics and heritage.
