Planning consultancy launches in the north of England

Three new hires / press release [square]Design and planning consultancy LUC has opened two new offices as part of its expansion plans, one in Manchester and the other in Lancaster.

The consultancy already has offices in London, Bristol, Glasgow and Edinburgh. It has undertaken a range of work recently, including a study of the Manchester green belt.

The Manchester city office will be lead by director of landscape architecture Tom Jonson, who joins from AECOM’s office in the city. He has more than 20 years of experience as a landscape architect and urban designer. His works include public realm schemes in Manchester, Liverpool and Leicester.

Principal landscape architect Jacqueline Whitworth-Allan and consultant landscape architect Chris Cox will join Jones. Whitworth-Allan has worked on landscape visual impact assessments for HS2 and the redevelopment of Old Trafford Cricket Ground. Cox has worked on a number of public realm and urban design projects, including leading public realm works for the University of Salford masterplan.

Jon Abbatt will lead the new office in the Lancaster Environment Centre at Lancaster University. He joins the company as director of strategic development from head of environment with ADAS UK.
