Dean Knight [square]Richborough Estates has appointed Dean Knight as its first technical director.

Knight joins from Lioncourt Homes where he was an engineering manager. He began his career as an army avionics technician prior to moving into the construction sector.

Karl Parkinson-Witte, joint managing director at Richborough Estates, said: “It is widely publicised that in this country we are facing a significant housing crisis and there is a pressing need to deliver 300,000 new homes every year.

“To support this aspiration, it is imperative that we provide consented sites that can offer a significant volume of new homes in one location. As the size of the site increases, so too do the number of specific technical issues that we’re likely to encounter, such as ensuring sufficient utilities capacity, or overcoming on-site constraints.

“Engaging a third party specialist can increase the cost of planning out a new development which can reduce the land values. Dean’s appointment allows us to address specific technical issues that may arise while ensuring that we are generating the very best return for the site.”
