Planning consultancy Montagu Evans has appointed data and socio-economics expert Morgan Reece as an associate.
He will primarily work with its town centre and commercial sector specialist teams.
Reece has nearly a decade of expertise and joins from Mace Strategic Advisory. There he focused on the social value and community impacts of development, particularly town centre re-purposing and masterplanning.
The newly created role will see Reece work with Montagu Evans’ planning and development consultancy professionals to support the firm’s advice to both public and private sector clients, including local authorities, government bodies, owners and developers.
His work will include overseeing socio-economic and community value strategies for major projects, preparing technical impact assessment reports and developing business cases to support planning applications, masterplan strategies and regeneration plans.
Craig Blatchford, head of planning at Montagu Evans, said: “Good data is essential for all aspects of the planning and development lifecycle – from initial site searches and housing land supply assessments, through development feasibility studies and options appraisals to economic benefit statements. But to be truly useful it needs to be managed, interrogated and interpreted not only with a high level of skill but also a deep understanding of ultimate objectives to ensure can add the most value to clients and the community within which it is proposed. In Morgan we have someone with this capability – he will bring extensive experience and insight to the role and we look forward to welcoming him into our teams.”
