1. PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ENFORCEMENT TEAM LEADER, NORTH WEST LEICESTERSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL

Location: Coalville, Leics/Hybrid

The job: "We're looking for a planning and development enforcement team leader to join us to lead, manage and develop our planning enforcement team. The successful candidate will be given the chance to review how the team works and make any changes identified. You will also take on some of the more complex cases in the district to effectively resolve any issues through influencing, negotiation and the use of enforcement powers. 

"We're looking for someone with significant experience of planning enforcement work. You'll be an effective leader and team member, have a recognised planning qualification (or sufficient experience) and either be a member of or be eligible for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

"The district of North West Leicestershire is mainly rural in character with the southern part of the district in the national forest. However, it also has pressures from development in the main urban areas due to its location adjacent to the East Midlands airport and the strategic highways network."

2. PRINCIPAL PLANNING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, WILTSHIRE COUNCIL

Location: Trowbridge, Wiltshire 

The job: "Our enforcement team plays a vital role in the planning process, ensuring high-quality, sustainable development in line with the development plan and other relevant considerations. 

"This is a new role created as part of our drive to improve our planning service. As a principal enforcement officer, you'll handle the more complex enforcement investigations of alleged breaches of planning control and support the team in dealing with appeals and prosecutions. Reporting to a planning manager, your main responsibility is to make sure that unacceptable breaches of planning control are remedied in a timely manner and in accordance with Wiltshire’s planning enforcement strategy. 

"Whilst you won’t have any direct management responsibilities, you will be responsible for mentoring less experienced staff in the enforcement team, offering guidance and supervision and supporting their professional development."

4. PLANNING POLICY OFFICER, CPRE THE COUNTRYSIDE CHARITY

Location: London

The job: "We’re looking for a planning policy officer with GIS expertise and a positive attitude and outlook towards placemaking and planning to join our policy and advocacy directorate at an exciting time.

5. SENIOR PLANNING OFFICER (DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT), PEMBROKESHIRE COAST NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY

Location: Sir Benfro, Pembrokeshire

The job: "As senior planning officer, you'll contribute to the delivery of the development management aspects of the authority’s statutory local planning function, within the wider context of National Park purposes and the authority’s local development plan through the management of all forms of planning casework, including major applications.

"We're looking for someone who has:

  • Awareness and appreciation of the purposes of National Parks.
  • Education to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • A professional planning qualification (Membership of the RTPI is desirable).
  • Significant experience of working within the planning field in either the public or private sector.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A positive approach to dealing with customers and stakeholders, with an ability to deal effectively with difficult customers and controversial situations.
  • Excellent IT skills.
