1. TEAM MANAGER – DEVELOPMENT PLANS, ST HELENS BOROUGH COUNCIL
Location: St Helens, Merseyside/Hybrid
The job: "We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive development plans manager, with excellent knowledge of planning policy and legislation, to take forward our work on our SPDs, the preparation of our bold Forest Garden Village masterplan and other planning policy work.

You will be involved in all aspects of plan-making, working in partnership with officers across the council and developing effective relationships with different authorities, agencies, and communities in St Helens and beyond.

2. PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, GRUNDON WASTE MANAGEMENT LTD
Location: Beenham, near Reading, Berkshire

Our continued success is largely due to our innovative and forward-thinking approach, not least in seizing creative opportunities for future growth.
"Our estates department is fundamental in making this happen - by ensuring the changing needs of our business are met through the planning system. As planning and development manager, you'll strengthen our estates team, which manages our surprisingly large and diverse property portfolio, including industrial, agricultural, residential, leisure and commercial assets.
"In this challenging role you'll be involved in a variety of exciting planning and development projects, ranging from (but not limited to) minerals and waste planning, renewable energy, sustainability and commercial development projects. You'll deliver planning consents and manage early-stage development activities to both support operational teams and create increasing value from the estate.
"You will:
- regularly visit sites to discuss and identify development opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity
- identify development opportunities in the non-operational commercial estate
- secure the legal agreements and statutory consents necessary to enable development
- develop early-stage scheme designs, commission investigations and lead internal and external teams to undertake and manage planning applications, EIAs, appeals, local development framework submissions and other land-use regulatory activities."
3. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PLANNING, DACORUM BOROUGH COUNCIL
Location: Hertford, Hertfordshire
The job: "As the assistant director of planning, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Dacorum. You'll oversee development management, strategic planning and infrastructure teams, driving key initiatives such as the Hemel Garden Communities program, which aims to deliver a further 11,000 homes over the next 30 years. Your strategic vision and leadership will be critical in navigating complex planning challenges, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of our local plan.
"As a visionary leader with extensive experience in planning and development, you'll bring with you an ability to see the big picture. 4. STRATEGIC SITES PLANNER, BASSETLAW DISTRICT COUNCIL
Location:Worksop, Nottinghamshire
The job: "We're looking for an individual to appraise and determine the most complex forms of pre-application, planning applications and appeals. You’ll also support the major projects manager in the delivery of key sites in the district, to lead on the case management of strategic site delivery and to liaise with the planning policy team for monitoring of the progression of those sites.

5. PRINCIPAL PLANNER (MAJOR SITES), EAST SUFFOLK COUNCIL
Location: Lowestoft or Melton, Woodbridge, Suffolk/Hybrid
The job: "This lead planning role will focus on the delivery of allocated strategic scale sites and supporting infrastructure. With two recently adopted local plans, the council is fulfilling its ambitions for growth by working to secure the timely submission of legally compliant applications, planning permissions and their implementation to meet the requirements of the development plan.
"The role will involve a considerable place shaping responsibility for several new garden village and garden neighbourhood communities for up to 2,000 homes. Achieving high-quality, well-designed places will be a leading responsibility, alongside addressing environmental effects and mitigation, both locally and cumulatively in the district.
"You'll lead the planning process for the delivery of strategic sites and garden neighbourhoods/villages across the district. This includes project management across teams as part of a single planning team approach that will include colleagues from other organisations/bodies, as necessary.
"In addition, you'll contribute to the wider development management team, supporting colleagues to deliver planning decisions of all scales whilst also assisting the infrastructure team to support infrastructure delivery through CIL, s106 and with external bodies. You'll have a strong eye for urban design and good environmental awareness in decision-making, including experience of environmental impact assessments."
