1. LEAD PRINCIPLE PLANNING OFFICER, LONDON BOROUGH OF REDBRIDGE

Location: Ilford

Salary: £53,607 - £56,646

The job: "This is an exciting time for the London Borough of Redbridge; we are at the heart of regeneration and change in East London, with unprecedented investment in the area expected in the next few years and Elizabeth Line will continue to open up new opportunities for new homes and jobs.

"We need to proactively manage the investment being made in the borough to deliver a significant amount of new housing and supporting community infrastructure, drive economic growth to encourage local businesses to thrive and create a place in which people are proud to live, work and visit. 

"The role is paramount to the delivery of the council’s strategic corporate priorities. The post is one of four who manage professional officers within the development management team and provide a key role in determining planning applications. The post would take the lead on the negotiation of strategic planning applications to deliver corporate objectives and the local plan."

2. DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT TEAM LEADER, DERBYSHIRE DALES DISTRICT COUNCIL

Location: Matlock, Derbyshire/Hybrid

Salary: £47,625 - £50,936, plus £2,000 welcome payment

The job: "Is this the opportunity for you?

"We're looking for an enthusiastic team leader to provide the day to day operational management to staff within the development management team.

3. PLANING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL

Location: Yate, South Gloucestershire/Hybrid

Salary: £35,235 - £37,938

The job: "As a planning enforcement officer, you will make a difference by making South Gloucestershire a safe place to live, visit, and work in. Working as part of a team, you'll play a key role in contributing towards a high-quality built environment for the enjoyment of all residents and visitors.

"What you'll be doing:

  • It will be your responsibility to manage 60–80 case assignments at all levels of complexity, working towards effective and efficient solutions.
  • You'll be involved in work ranging from pre-application to post decision.
  • Responding to a range of internal and external enquiries, you will deliver a high-quality service.
  • Occasionally, you'll conduct field visits for further investigation of alleged breaches of planning control.
  • You'll be expected to display decisive decision-making in complex or unprecedented situations.

"What we need from you:

  • You'll be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area so you must have a full, valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or have an alternative means of travel.  

"This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Yate, at home and within the community."

4. ENERGY PROJECTS MANAGER, EAST SUFFOK COUNCIL

Location: Melton, Woodbridge, Suffolk

Salary: £58,192 - £64,643

The job: "Reporting to the head of nationally significant infrastructure planning, you'll support in the work involved in these projects which includes the East Anglia Array (offshore windfarm), Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station, National Grid Ventures Interconnectors, Sea Link National Grid reinforcement project and any such other projects that may arise.

"You'll lead and manage the team responsible for the delivery of the council’s response to, and involvement in, the determination of nationally significant infrastructure energy related projects, working alongside many other technical experts and, if approved, the subsequent delivery and monitoring of projects to ensure compliance across East Suffolk and maximising mitigation and other benefits. 

"You'll ensure the delivery of a quality service to enable the consideration of these major energy projects and the council’s response to nationally significant infrastructure projects (and associated consents), discharge of requirements and monitoring. 

"A key aspect of this role is significant political acumen working with elected representatives, scheme promotors and local communities, as well as engaging with government."

5. PLANNING OFFICER / PLANNING ASSISTANT / SENIOR PLANNING OFFICER (MATERNITY COVER), TEST VALLEY BOROUGH COUNCIL

Location: Andover, Hampshire/Hybrid

"The planning assistant position offers an excellent opportunity to start a career in planning so we're looking for someone with a keen interest in this area. 

"For the planning officer role you'll also need to have previous experience of working in development management.

"The senior planning officer role will provide an opportunity to work creatively on a wide variety of development schemes including more complex applications. You will have extensive experience of working in development management and have a positive attitude to development.

"As part of our team, you’ll then receive comprehensive training and assistance and encouragement to become a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute."
