"The landscape and planning officer will be involved in a wide range of pro-active spatial planning matters, as well as responding to a varied development management caseload. A key role will be working to safeguard the primary aim of landscape protection across the Lincolnshire Wolds, whilst recognising the area’s importance in the context of a living and working farmed landscape. This typically involves reviewing and positively influencing the many issues impacting upon the area, including housing, transport, mineral extraction, renewable energy, nature recovery and climate change adaptation.
"There will be an opportunity to help address strategic planning matters through positive engagement with the statutory Lincolnshire Wolds Management Plan; working with partners to aid its forthcoming review to help set out the aspirations, policies and actions to help safeguard and enhance the unique and special qualities of this National Landscape which has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty since 1973, and covers some 558 km sq."

"Working on a range of planning applications, pre-application enquiries and appeals, you will have a solid understanding of the role of planning and embrace principles of good design in creating well connected and sustainable communities. 5. PLANNING COMMITTEE INDEPENDENT MEMBER (x2), EBBSFLEET DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

The job: "This appointment will be made by the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government. It will be a fixed term three-year contract which may be extended subject to performance. The time commitment is up to two days a month (average of one day per month).
"Planning committee independent members provide support to the Corporation’s decision making on planning applications in the area.
"The planning committee independent members should have the competencies needed to operate effectively at planning committee. The committee requires a mix of skills and experience in areas relating to decision making but this does not necessarily need to be in the field of town planning. Planning committee independent members should understand the major strategic issues pertaining to the creation of the garden city and the overarching objectives of the corporation within a town planning context, balanced against the needs of local communities, businesses and other stakeholders.
"In order to maximise the skills and experience of the committee we are seeking two roles: one with a planning or development background and one with a knowledge of the local area and the issues and opportunities it offers."
