Antony Pollard [square]Planning and development consultancy Turley has appointed Antony Pollard head of economics, following six years as a director at the firm.

Pollard will lead Turley’s national economics service, which provides the evidence required to successfully promote development and optimise the economic, social value and health benefits of a project.

He takes on the role from senior director Richard Laming, who will continue to lead projects and support the strategic growth of the service.

Laming said: “Antony has been a key player in the growth and success of the team over the last six years. His knowledge of the UK’s various planning systems, ability to develop compelling evidence to support promotions and applications and work as an expert witness mark him out as a market leader.

“Beyond this he has a deep understanding of the social, economic and regeneration challenges facing different areas of the UK. This is essential in terms of communicating the role that planning and development can play in helping to redress economic imbalances and meeting people’s needs for homes, jobs and life opportunities.”
