Planning Technician/Graduate Planner - Berkshire
A Berkshire Local Authority is looking for a Planning Technician to support the Development Management Team.
In this role you will gain valuable experience within Local Authority Planning. You will be responsible for validating planning applications that are submitted such as residential extensions, small scale change of use and mixed use applications.
This role will also work closely with all members of the Development Management Service.
Your key duties will include;
- Checking whether planning applications which have been received have all of the necessary information to enable the application to be validated. This involves technical, financial and administrative checks on a large variety of applications together with the necessary consultations.
- Liaising with applicants or their agents in cases where not all of the information has been received, setting out what further information is necessary to enable an application to be validated.
- Working efficiently and effectively to ensure the accuracy of work undertaken, ensuring compliance with regulations, rules and procedures. Take appropriate action to identify and resolve errors/discrepancies.
Previous experience working in a Local Authority Planning Department, especially within validations, would be extremely beneficial. Training will also be given.
This contract will run for an initial 3 months and rates are negotiable dependent on the applicant's experience.
