Principal Planning Officer

Building and Construction - South East England

My client, a South East England based Local Authority are currently recruiting for a Principal Planning Officer to join their team within the Building and Construction industry. This role will be within the public sector. The suitable candidate for the role will be responsible for managing and achieving quality planning outcomes and meeting national and local performance targets. Candidates will also have a proven record of being responsible for their own caseload of planning applications and related matters.

Details of the Principal Planning Officer role:

  • 6-12 Months
  • Inside IR35
  • 37 hours a week
  • Can work two days at home with at least 3 days in the officer
  • Must have at least 5 years of local authority experience of processing major applications and signing off minor applications under delegated authority. That experience should be recent and with a Council.
  • Must have experience working as a Principal Planning Officer
  • Experience working in UK Building and Construction industry
  • Must be computer literate and preferably know how to use Acolaid
  • Must be able to progress work quickly to meet deadlines and able to pick up on issues that are relevant to the consideration of an application.
  • Must be able to write reports well, without series of typos etc
