Assistant Planner/ Planner / Senior Planner (Planning Policy)
Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils care passionately about protecting their environment (e.g. AONB, Green Belt, town and villages character) whilst also planning positively to meet local development needs and delivering sustainable development. The councils are undertaking shared working and are looking to recruit an Assistant Planner, Planner or Senior Planner in Planning Policy to work across the two districts. The post could also be career graded if appointed at the Planner level with a bar at Grade 6 and the opportunity to progress to a Senior Planner based on performance and RTPI membership.
We are looking to recruit to a permanent position. An Assistant Planner could be suited to someone with a degree preferably related to Planning such as geography or GIS, a Planner possibly suited to a recent graduate with a planning degree or a Senior Planner with relevant experience. You would join the councils at a professionally exciting and challenging time with an emerging new Local Plan, work on key evidence base studies, complex Duty to Co-operate engagement, supporting a number of neighbourhood plans and delivering a range of related projects. We are particularly looking for enthusiastic applicants with an interest in planning, a Planner at the start of their career with passion and ability or a Senior Planner with achievement in planning policy work and ability to deliver high profile planning projects.
