Economic Development Office
Our client is a Local Authority and they are looking for an Economic Development Officer to join them for a contract role. Based in Berkshire you will engage with a number of projects to regenerate and boost the local economy and act as the single point of contact within the Council for businesses in the Borough.
The team's overall objective is to secure funding for the development of the local economy, including local businesses and projects aimed at the creation of jobs, delivering training and skills development for local people and the promotion of inward investment in a particular area within the district. You will represent the Council at external business forums, produce newsletters and other literature for businesses and run economic development related projects as well as work in partnership with local and regional partners to organise and promote business events.
This role is likely to suit someone at an early stage of their economic development career who is looking for a new challenge and a role which is going to provide excellent stakeholder engagement experience; the skills you learn through this role will be highly beneficial later in your career so this is an excellent progression role. Ideally, our client would like someone with a relevant degree level qualification, previous experience of local authority related economic development work and possess exceptional communication and influencing skills.
The role will initially be offered for a 3 month period as is standard for this kind of contract but given the long term nature of our clients work it is expected to extend. The rate will be around £19-£22/hr which reflects the level of experience required.
