Principal/Senior Planning Officer (Development Management)
The Borough of Broxbourne is in south east Hertfordshire bordering London and the M25, with a population of about 93,600. Stratford International station is 25 minutes by train and there is good access to airports and the rest of the country. Broxbourne is a Green Belt borough containing much of the Lee Valley Regional Park and is home to the White Water Centre which hosted the canoeing events at the London 2012 Olympics. Broxbourne has ambitious plans to deliver high quality retail, residential and commercial developments through its emerging Local Plan, whilst seeking to conserve its towns, villages and beautiful countryside.
Principal/Senior Planning Officer (Development Management) – Ref: (1G054P)
Salary range £33,443 - £40,983 p.a.
An enthusiastic Planner is sought to work within the Council’s Development Management team to assist developers with bringing forward high quality planning applications for the Council’s priority developments and to manage the subsequent applications through to completion. The successful applicant will have the skills and experience necessary to enhance the quality of developments in Broxbourne, working as a case officer for a range of high profile planning applications.
Applicants should be members of the RTPI with suitable planning experience. They must have strong design skills, be excellent communicators with the ability to write clear and concise reports. Above all, they must be able to demonstrate that they will make a positive difference to Broxbourne.
An appointment will be made at either Principal or Senior Planning Officer level dependent on skills and experience. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
