Mole Valley lies at the heart of Surrey. The market towns of Dorking and Leatherhead are the District’s main centres and are surrounded by outstanding countryside containing attractive villages all within easy access to London.

We want to strengthen our busy Planning Teams and are offering opportunities for a progressive town planner to lead our Development Management Team, a senior policy officer to help shape our Local Plan review, and for graduates looking to start or develop their career in town and country planning.

Development Management Manager £51,731 - £55,886 pa

You will take overall responsibility for developing and running the Development Management Service to ensure it is efficient, effective and responsive to the needs of all customers and meets relevant targets. The post holder will also be required to contribute to the delivery of corporate objectives and projects and provide support for the Executive Member for Planning and advice to the Development Control Committee.

Senior Planning Officer (Policy) £36,086 - £40,388 pa

You will play a leading role in the review of the Local Plan, which is reaching its most exciting stages of development.  You will have the opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of topic areas, including site appraisal and policy formulation, and be part of the team representing the Council at examination.

Planning Assistant/Officer x2 £24,491 - £31,498

These roles provide opportunities for someone looking to start a career in town planning or who wants to develop and broaden their experience. These are career grade posts that provide an opportunity to gain experience of development management and planning policy.
