Urban Design

Sustrans is the charity making it easier for people to walk and cycle. We connect people and places, create liveable neighbourhoods, transform the school run and deliver a happier, healthier commute.   Sustrans Scotland is seeking people with a passion for place and urban design to join our behaviour change team.

This is a very exciting role to support the delivery of high quality, imaginative design work on our Street Design Project in Raploch, Stirling and to lead on the implementation of the Pocket Places programme which includes community led design processes, the design and installation of temporary interventions on the public carriageway, urban realm improvements and the design of walking and cycling routes.

Educated to degree level or equivalent or with a relevant qualification in urban design, landscape architecture or a related field, you will have experience of working on design projects with a significant level of community engagement.  You will have proven experience in workshop facilitation and experience of effective and productive partnership working.  Your excellent visual presentation skills and practical competency in producing 3D renders and animation, will complement your excellent written and verbal communication skills and your ability to be proactive.  You will also have knowledge of current best practice in urban design and be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.

Please visit our website by clicking on the 'Apply Now Button' and follow the instructions for our on-line application process.  Please quote reference number.  Closing date for the receipt of completed applications is 9.00am on Monday 23 April 2018.  Interviews will take place in Edinburgh during week beginning Monday 7 May 2018 or week beginning Monday 14 May 2018.

Sustrans is committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity and enabling inclusion.  We welcome applications from people with the appropriate skills from all parts of the community.
