It’s now poised for transformation with the recent opening of a brand new international airport offering scheduled commercial air access.
Responsible for the section’s budget, you will provide invaluable professional support. You must consult with key stakeholders to implement policies and decisions and work closely with consultants
Holding at least a first degree in town planning plus membership of a relevant professional institute you will have a background in development control including team management in public or private sector planning. You will have strong and broad knowledge of legal, policy and procedural planning systems. Understanding the statutory planning process and the development of public policy and its impact on the public, you will be able to plan, allocate and progress work, manage time and meet deadlines. You will have a track record of achievement in drafting and preparing development plans and policies and also in advising lay members of authorities and boards and the public, co-ordinating technical personnel and training staff.
Providing quarterly reports on progress, you will be supported by the Trainee Planning Officer as well as Building Inspector and Deputy Building Inspector (also GIS Practitioner), and by the Planning Secretary who is also the Secretary to the Land Development Control Authority.
