Wychavon District Council is a proactive successful local planning authority situated in accessible, attractive countryside within South Worcestershire. We are currently looking for a chartered Principal Planning Officer to join our team of professionals and support the Development Manager in dealing with major planning applications within our district.
We recently adopted a new development plan for the district and currently have a robust 5 year housing land supply.

You will deal with a wide range of complex and major planning applications and informal enquiries and will prepare reports and recommendations on applications. You will be experienced in presenting applications to Planning Committees and will be expected to work closely with the public, members of the Council, developers and their representatives. You will also deal with appeals and act, where appropriate, as the Council’s witness at Public Inquiries.
We need someone with excellent communication skills, full membership of the RTPI, together with relevant experience in Development Management, ideally gained in a local authority.
