Senior Planning Officer
I am currently working with a Local Authority in Hampshire who are seeking a Senior Planning Officer to join their team.
About the Role
You will be responsible for processing complex minor applications and small developments. This will involve undertaking consultations, preparing planning reports and making recommendations for delegated and committee decisions. You will be communicating and negotiating with applicants, agents, consultees and other stakeholders. You will be required to appear at Committee's, meeting with stakeholders etc.
You will be providing written and verbal advice on planning matters to elected members, the public, developers, parish and town councils, colleagues. Ideally, you would be coaching, mentoring and supervising team members (preferred but not essential)
The Local Authority are looking for a Senior Planning Officer for a contract period of 3-6 months with the potential to extend. Flexible working time could be negotiated.
Preferably, you will have senior development management experience in both rural and urban development, dealing with elected members and stakeholders, and negotiating with applicants to ensure good development outcomes which allow for delivery. Ideally, you will also have some leaderships/mentoring/supervisory experience.
