An exciting opportunity for a Graduate Planner has arisen in a Local Authority in Berkshire. This is the perfect opportunity for a recent graduate to develop their knowledge and gain valuable experience in Local Authority Planning.

The role is in the Council's Development Management Team, where training and support will be given to assist you in working on a caseload of applications. The District is primarily rural, with a market town and small villages, so the applications will be varied. You will be working on householder applications, extensions, changes of use and certificates of lawful development. You will be liaising with members of the public, carrying out site visits and writing reports.

Past work experience in a Local Authority Planning Department would be beneficial, but the Council would also be interested in recent graduates who are enthusiastic, eager to learn and passionate about beginning their career in Planning.

The Council are looking for someone as soon as possible and can offer an initial 3 month contract which is likely to extend past this and also there is the potential for applicants to apply for a permanent role. The rate is negotiable dependent on experience.
