What’s the most famous town in the World?

Everyone has heard of Shakespeare’s Stratford upon Avon, but did you know we have two world class theatres, an exceptional range of shops and restaurants, Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin, some of the best landscape in the county including the Cotswold AONB, West Midlands Green Belt, numerous Conservation Areas and we have recently been awarded one of the government’s flagship Garden Villages.

We think Stratford is the most famous town in the world and we also think we have a world class planning team, our performance figures are among the best, we deal with around 4,000 applications a year and we are a great team of planners.

How would you like to join us?

We are a well-resourced team and we like to hang on to good people.  Due to an internal secondment to the Garden Village Team, we are looking for a Senior Planner who will deal with whatever major applications come through the door.  Most work is in housing layouts, but you may also be dealing with major applications for industrial, agricultural or commercial developments – there’s plenty of variety.  The post is initially for a 4 year Fixed term Contract.

You may already be working at this level and looking for a new challenge or maybe seeking to develop your career into major work.   In either case, you will need to have a positive attitude to both developments and ‘customer care’ and a commitment to improving the built environment of Stratford-on-Avon District.

We want to find the right person for this position and we know you are enjoying the summer, so we have given you plenty of time to plan a day trip to Stratford, to have a good look at the District and submit an application form before the closing date.

You should have a degree or postgraduate qualification in planning and membership of the RTPI. A qualification or experience in an associated subject (Landscape, Conservation, Urban Design etc.) would be an advantage.
