Senior Planning Officer - Development Management

Greater London Authority

Central London

£43,517 per annum

Ref: OPDC-2791

Take a senior role within OPDC’s Development Management team and help shape the future of Old Oak.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to join our team on a full time permanent basis.

This is your chance to help shape London’s largest and most exciting regeneration project as part of the Mayor of London’s Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC).  You will help promote the physical, social, economic and environmental regeneration of the area by encouraging development while securing maximum benefits and capitalising on the planned High Speed 2, Elizabeth line and London Overground transport interchange at Old Oak Common.

As Senior Planner, you will lead on a range of planning applications and pre-application proposals, including major developments. You will demonstrate your ability to work pro-actively on your own caseload, prepare reports for decision both under delegated authority and by the Planning Committee, and will respond to enquiries from the public, providing advice and guidance on the Corporation’s processes and timelines for considering planning applications.

You will possess a relevant degree and be eligible for RTPI membership. You will be able to demonstrate successful experience in a similar role and environment and will have a good understanding of the working environment of a local planning authority, the local, regional and national planning policy context and legislative framework. You believe strongly in working flexibly as part of a team to get the job done and are confident in your technical expertise and experience to proactively manage your own workload.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements.

In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan, childcare voucher scheme and a career average pension scheme.
