North Northamptonshire lies just 50 minutes from St Pancras and is part of the Cambridge-Milton Keynes-Oxford Corridor. It is one of the fastest growing areas in the country.

The Joint Planning and Delivery Unit (JPDU) supports four local authorities in planning and delivering the ambitious growth agenda set out in the Joint Core Strategy (JCS). Capacity funding from Government and partners is enabling us to strengthen our professional team to deal with an increasing planning policy workload.

We need an enthusiastic policy planner to support the implementation and review of the JCS; assist the partner councils with their part 2 Local Plans; input to work relating to the Cambridge-Milton Keynes-Oxford Corridor and assist in the updating of Brownfield Registers.

The post holder will be employed by East Northamptonshire Council on behalf of the JPDU. It is offered as a two-year contract, which may be extended subject to future funding and emerging unitary authority proposals.

Job-share or part-time working will be considered.

For more information and to complete the online application please visit the links provided above or contact Simon James or Andrew Longley at the JPDU on 01832 742361/742359. General information on the JPDU is available at www.nnjpdu.org.uk.

Deadline: Friday 2nd November 2018 at midday

Potential changes are on the horizon across Northamptonshire in which the county council and all the district and boroughs councils would join to create unitary authorities covering populations of over 300,000 each. This transformation could open the doors to new and exciting career opportunities for all our employees.
