Planning Policy Team Leader
Ipswich is the largest centre in Suffolk for business, culture, entertainment and sports, with a rich history and heritage and a thriving Waterfront. It is one of the fastest growing regional centres in England, where there are thousands of homes and jobs planned for the area together with the continued redevelopment of the historic town centre and Waterfront.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead and motivate a team to help to plan for the future through developing the next Local Plan for Ipswich. You will be based at Grafton House in Ipswich and will report directly to the Planning and Development Operations Manager.
Your main responsibility is to act as the technical lead for all local plan matters and to promote spatial planning of the town by leading, managing and being accountable for the Local Plan production. Along with your team of planners, you will be expected to work with our neighbouring local planning authorities on cross-boundary strategic planning matters.
You will have a degree level education in Planning or proven equivalent level of technical and organisational knowledge in a relevant field. You will be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute or other relevant professional body or institute and have evidence of continuing professional development.
