Building Futures Programme Manager

About you:

*Recognised degree level qualification (or equivalent), or appropriate work experience
*Knowledge of urban design, planning, architecture and the development process
*Interest/experience of the design process within the built environment
*Sound project management skills, ideally with a working understanding of local government procurement practice

Hertfordshire County Council is a leading local authority with a highly regarded Environmental Resourcing Planning service. This is your chance to be part of a busy multi-disciplinary team that is flexible, responds quickly to change and is never complacent. You’ll be managing the Hertfordshire Design Review process for the Building Futures partnership and taking on a diverse range of projects which promote sustainable growth and development in the county and the enhancement of Hertfordshire’s natural environment.

Responsibilities also include:

*To lead on county and district council activity in relation to the promotion and achievement of high quality, sustainable development
*To maintain and strengthen existing partnership arrangements with local planning authorities
*To manage and deliver all activities associated with the Hertfordshire Design Review process
*To lead in the provision of a sustainable urban design perspective for the County Council’s input into the preparation by District Councils of Local Development Frameworks
