Town Planning Team Leader - DM
Our client is a Local Authority based in Essex and they are seeking an experienced Team Leader for their Development Control team. You will oversee a team of Planning Officers to ensure the effective delivery of planning application assessments, including the management of appeals. As well as day to day management of your team you may, on occasion, be called to act as an expert witness and also be required to deputise for the Group Manager of Development Control & Building Management.
Applicants for this post must be qualified Town Planners with experience of local authority town planning. Your strong technical knowledge of UK planning legislation will need to be complimented with good management skills and the confidence and ability to direct a team. Critical to this role will be the ability to communicate effectively and to engage in negotiations that can often be sensitive and complex so you will need to be able to engage productively with third parties to develop good relationships that ensure successful development.

The post will initially be offered as a 5 month contract and it has been deemed as outside IR35. Our client is offering between £450-£500/day depending on experience. Please get in touch for further information and a copy of the JD.
