Development Management Enforcement Officer

Salary – £29,213 to £39,445 per annum (Grades F/G) (dependant on qualifications and experience) plus Essential Car User Allowance

With a modern office based a couple of minutes from the train station, we offer a flexible working environment for a Planning Enforcement Officer to work as part of a multidisciplinary Development Management Team.

The post holder will be expected to have a good working knowledge of permitted development rights and experience of investigating breaches of planning control, including collecting the necessary evidence, interviewing under caution and serving formal planning enforcement related notices, as well appearing in court when necessary.

The post holder will have excellent verbal and written skills, have the ability to deal calmly and professionally with confrontational situations, resolve problems by using experience and initiative and by working closely with colleagues within the Development Management Team and other service areas of the Council.

The Council has recently started an ambitious transformation programme to model how it works in order to support a new agile way of working, helping staff to become more flexible and responsive to the needs of the customer whilst responding to significant changes in technology.
