Planning Policy Manager
The council has embarked on a review of its Local Plan and is keen to appoint a new Planning Policy Manager to oversee this work and other related forward planning priorities.
This post will provide a great opportunity to get involved in plan making for a large authority with an excellent track record. The team won the prestigious Local Plan Making award at the 2017 Planning Resource Awards ceremony and is committed to maintaining similar high standards in plan making relating to the current review and future iterations of the plan.
East Riding of Yorkshire not only presents a myriad of urban, rural and coastal planning challenges but also the advantage of working in an attractive and relatively affordable part of the country.
You will need to have considerable first-hand experience of plan making and be suitably qualified with both a planning degree and membership of the RTPI. Most importantly, you will need to be a creative, pro-active and enthusiastic person who can genuinely rise to the challenge and make a difference.
This post is full-time but the council has flexible working arrangements and there may be opportunities for some home working for the right candidate.
