About this role:

Our planning officers handle an interesting and challenging range of casework, providing pre-application advice to prospective applicants, leading on any planning appeals and compliance and enforcement work.

You will be educated to graduate level in town planning, accredited by RTPI or have a demonstrably equivalent qualification or experience.  This post could suit someone early in their career as well as someone who has more experience. You will need to have the confidence, skills and expertise to negotiate with applicants to secure high-quality schemes which enhance and do not damage the special qualities of Northumberland National Park.

You must be able to communicate effectively and clearly with applicants, colleagues, Authority Members and local communities on planning matters.
