Are you ready to take the next step in your Planning career?

Unlock your potential with Crest Nicholson.

Crest Nicholson Strategic Projects (CSP) are now recruiting for a Planning Executive to join the growing and dynamic team.

The CSP team manages the acquisition of strategic land, promoting the concept of garden Village concepts and creating a master plan with placemaking and community focus at the heart of the Planning process. With both long-term and medium-term projects, CSP's specialism lies in managing the end to end planning permission processes on a strategic level.

As Planning Executive, you will manage the planning application process of major development projects, leading on business development, project reviews meetings and the appointment of Consultants. You will be operationally leading your team to deliver against commercial targets with financial modelling in mind, as part of the wider Crest Nicholson business strategy.

This role requires someone with a strong ability to establish excellent working relationships with planning authorities and other local government bodies, proactively promoting land for planning permission with a long term view. You will be the subject matter expert on new legislation and government attitudes towards planning and new homes construction, reporting to and working closely with the Planning Director.

Key elements of the role:

  • Coordinating, collating and submitting planning representations to planning consultants
  • Leading regular planning and project review meetings
  • Proactively focus on business development
  • Leading promotion strategies
  • Leading complex projects
  • Agree programmes and cost budgets
  • Negotiations across the full planning permission process
  • Ensure all projects are commercially viable

About you

The successful candidate will have held a senior planning role, where we will consider candidates with a blend of experience from a Consultancy and/or Housebuilder/Developer background. You must have an expert understanding of the planning process for large-scale residential developments, ideally nationally, with emphasis on strategic land across southern England outside of the London region. This is a senior team management role, so previous experience of providing direct line management is important.  Financial and commercial experience is essential for financial modelling and as part of the master planning process.  Supervisory and coaching skills are highly desirable as you will be supervising your small team.

In return, we are offering an excellent benefits package, award-winning training and development opportunities with a competitive salary and car package.

We seek to be an ethical and progressive employer which encourages a culture of openness, creativity and continuous professional development and which rewards the effectiveness and loyalty of our employees as an equal opportunities employer. If you are applying to work at Crest Nicholson, we will ask you to supply us with sufficient personal information to help us process your application. To learn more about what personal information we will need to process and why, please refer to our recruitment privacy notice which can be found here https://www.crestnicholson.com/legal-information/recruitment-privacy-policy
