Development Services Assistant
The Development Management Service is a busy team which processes a large volume of planning and related applications, delivering the service to the residents of the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The work is interesting and varied, dealing with a mixture of planning and related applications, including residential, renewable energy, agriculture and business proposals in a varied rural and urban location.
We are looking for an enthusiastic assistant with practical or relevant academic experience, preferably with experience of working in development management and/or with relevant administration/clerical qualifications.
You will provide technical support to the Planning Officers and Managers within the department and provide excellent service to members of the public across a range of planning issues including handling minor planning applications, attending the council’s Planning Surgeries and on the telephone. The role therefore requires excellent team working and communication skills.
IT skills are also essential as you will be working with a variety of software and need word processing skills.
This role is temporary until October 2021 to be reviewed annually.
You will be based in the market town of Beverley, a highly desirable place to work and live. This is a beautiful part of the country working for a council which is recognised nationally as one of the best in the country.
We offer a discounted leisure centre membership, staff discount scheme and potential for flexible working arrangements.
