East Cambridgeshire District Council’s positive and pro-active approach to development has resulted in a period of growth within the district. We therefore are looking to appoint a full time (37 hours per week) Planning Assistant to join their vibrant planning team.
The District has internationally renowned heritage and environmental assets, together with new industrial projects, a major extension to the north of Ely, and retail proposals. In addition you will also be responsible for your own caseload, processing smaller household applications prior notifications and certificate of lawfulness applications, as directed by the Planning Team Leaders. This post is ideal for someone who is looking to take their first steps towards a career in Planning.
Ideally applicants should be educated to degree level (or equivalent), but this is not essential, as long as you can demonstrate strong communication, organisational, administrative and interpersonal skills. In addition you will be a team worker who is able to work accurately to deadlines and committed to delivering a high quality service.
The Council offers a range of benefits including:
- Childcare scheme (in approved cases)
