We care passionately about planning positively for the sustainable growth of Rutland, and are looking to enhance our Planning Policy team to deliver our Local and Neighbourhood Plans. You will be joining the team at a crucial time in the delivery of our ambitious plans for growth, giving you the opportunity to further your knowledge and experience supporting development that will bring significant change to the County.

Who you are… Enthusiastic and motivated, you will be keen to broaden your experience in all areas of planning policy and work towards Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute. A good communicator, you will bring clarity to complex information and be committed to delivering an excellent standard of customer care. Able to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines, you will take responsibility for delivering against objectives.

What we need from you… Qualified to degree level in planning or a related subject, you will have a good knowledge of current planning issues and legislation, and the processes followed in local government. An understanding and practical experience of working with Local Plans, Section 106 and the Community Infrastructure Levy would also be useful. Strong IT skills, ideally with experience of using mapping and GIS tools, will be essential as is a keen eye for detail.
