Area Regeneration Manager

Play a leading role in Lambeth’s new Growth Directorate!

If you are seeking to further your career in the regeneration and development delivery sector then look no further than Lambeth Council. The council has developed a reputation as a leader in unlocking sustainable and inclusive growth, most notably within its two Opportunity Areas at Waterloo and Vauxhall Nine Elms and across its town centres, including the world famous Brixton. However, we believe that we can do more and have just created a new Growth Directorate that will better enable our three area-based regeneration teams to meet their key objectives in unlocking further opportunities for growth, regeneration and inward investment.

We feel that the opportunity to take projects right from inception, through design and development, to delivery really stands our team out from the crowd. As part of the Area Regeneration Team, you would be given full license to actively seek partnerships and evolve new growth strategies and deliver significant redevelopments. This will focus on our own assets, augmented by land acquisitions and site assembly, and be achieved through a mix of self-delivery, development agreements and JVs. You would also lead on master-planning, workspace, meanwhile use, public realm and strategy work. The combination of central London development opportunities, alongside the powers available to local authorities, such as access to land, external funding, preferential borrowing and CPO, make us a fantastic next career move.

As such, we are looking for credible built environment professionals, in either the public or private sectors, who want to play a bigger and more meaningful role in reshaping the built environment for the genuine advantage of our local communities.  In addition to the exciting work programmes that you would be leading, your working conditions would be second to none now that we have moved into the brand new Civic Centre offices located in the heart of Brixton. We also encourage applications from those who might wish to address their work-life balance and we are fully committed to creating a genuinely inclusive workplace with numerous options for flexible working.

In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 26 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan, childcare voucher scheme and an average salary pension scheme.

The closing date for receiving completed application forms is Sunday 10 February 2019 at midnight.
