Permanent/Full-Time

Ref: 5593

These are full-time positions however part time hours may be considered depending on the individual service needs.

Exciting opportunities have arisen in our newly established Place Department for Senior Policy Planners seeking to advance their careers and join our ambitious Plan Making Team. At Enfield we are looking for professionals with enthusiasm and knowledge to lead in a range of strategic planning areas but in particular on helping deliver Enfield’s New Local Plan. Enfield has huge transformation aspirations, with exciting planning and regeneration projects such as our flagship Meridian Water development and the prospect of securing Crossrail 2 and future growth in our borough.

To be successful in this role you’ll need to be passionate about planning in Outer London with a track record of achievement in a comparable role and have the skills to deal with complex strategic planning issues.  You should have a degree/post graduate qualification in planning or equivalent with eligibility for RTPI membership.

The role will involve in-depth evidence base gathering to support the New Local Plan, review, commissioning and managing consultants, briefing Members and organising public consultations for all stages of plan production. If you have specialist and up to date knowledge in areas of housing, green belt, retail, economy and social and community infrastructure we would like to hear from you.

You will also be expected to take a lead in developing planning policy and guidance in relation to infrastructure planning and other policy areas as the Local Plan and Infrastructure Delivery Plan are reviewed and revised.

We are looking for flexible and adaptable planners with a can-do attitude and a track record of working on a range of policy areas who share our excitement for plan making and delivery on the ground.

Enfield is committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.
