The Councils in West Northamptonshire are committed to sustainable growth and have embarked upon the preparation of a new Strategic Plan to set out a vision for the area up to 2050.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Planning Officer to contribute to the preparation the new West Northamptonshire Strategic Plan. You will be based in the Joint Planning Unit which is tasked to deliver the Plan on behalf of Daventry District, Northampton Borough and South Northamptonshire Councils. You role will be vital in supporting key project work streams for the Plan. You will undertake and commission research, analyse results and produce policies and proposals for inclusion in the Strategic Plan.

The Councils fully support economic and housing growth and already work closely together to meet the needs and aspirations of the wider area. Indeed the Strategic Plan will review and replace the existing Joint Core Strategy for the area.  We are well positioned in the Cambridge – Milton Keynes – Oxford Arc and are seeking to make the most of this opportunity in terms of the investment it will bring to support the development of sustainable communities.

If you are an ambitious strategic thinker, enjoy a challenge, and have relevant qualifications and experience in development plan preparation, apply now and become part of West Northamptonshire’s future.
