We are looking for a capable, friendly and knowledgeable Chartered Town Planner to help coach and lead a team of Planning Officers. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Planning and who understands and can convey to others how Development Management can generate great places to live and achieve the aims and aspirations of our communities.

As a Principal Planning Officer you will be responsible for carrying out the Council’s Development Management functions within the Borough. This post is a wide ranging role which includes deputising for the Development Manager (North), day to day line management responsibility for professional Officers and case management of a limited number of significant major applications, pre-application enquiries, and appeals. It would be ideal for those looking to develop their career in planning and extend a genuine interest you have in coaching and mentoring junior staff.
