Enfield is a dynamic and progressive London Borough with excellent links to the city and central areas as well as Hertfordshire and Essex. With the focus for London’s future growth on outer London and recognising its location along the strategically important London - Stansted corridor, there are a range of significant development opportunities. We want your skills and vision to help realise their potential.
Headlining our ambitious growth agenda is the Borough’s largest residential led mixed-use development at Meridian Water where upwards of 12000 new homes and 6000 jobs will be created. Alongside new public open spaces, shops, community facilities and a new railway station already under construction, this is a key opportunity to shape and deliver a landmark residential scheme within London.
Our ambitions don’t end there as we are already in early discussions on a number of major regeneration schemes across the Borough including proposals for Enfield Town, Brimsdown, Edmonton and Southgate to deliver new high-quality mixed use residential led development which meets the modern housing and employment needs of our residents
We need you to help us achieve this vision. Working alongside our new Place and Design Review Panel, this is an opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to gain exceptional experience and make a real difference to the future lives of our residents.
To help you help us, we can offer opportunities for personal development including flexible working or compressed hours, home working opportunities, generous annual leave, training opportunities and a friendly working environment. Further enhancements to the Council’s overall remuneration and retention package are currently under discussion.
Working as part of an area team, this is an exciting opportunity at the heart of our area planning teams, focused on delivering a range of development schemes, planning performance and excellent customer experience. These are key roles and offer an opportunity to develop your planning knowledge and experience in a busy planning environment. You will deal with the full range of planning applications, including industrial, retail, business, residential, and heritage reflecting the diverse composition and varied development opportunities the Borough is dealing with. A good understanding of development management including permitted development and associated planning legislation will be importance, but further training opportunities will be available to enhance your skills and experience
You will have excellent customer focus and be able to demonstrate confidence in dealing with applicants and their agents, Councillors and residents.
