The Planning Applications Team is high performing despite a substantial and complex work load of applications of all types. Having established this high performance across the service, we are now creating a new role managing the team tasked with delivering a range of significant new development sites allocated through Stratford-on-Avon District’s Core Strategy.

Some of our key sites include the Garden Village at Long Marston Airfield, Stratford’s South-Western Relief Road, the new settlement at Gaydon/Lighthorne Heath and Stratford-upon-Avon’s Canal Quarter Regeneration Area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day support and supervision, and take line management responsibility, for a team of Senior Planners.

You will be expected to show enthusiasm, drive and a proven ability to take a positive approach to development. You will also have extensive contact with District Councillors and Parish Councils.

You should have a degree or postgraduate qualification in planning or related discipline and be a full member of the RTPI. Several years’ experience in a development management setting is essential.

In addition to an open and friendly environment, you’ll enjoy an excellent benefits package including a minimum of 23 days’ annual leave, flexi-time and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Richard Gardner on 01789 260364 or email richard.gardner@stratford-dc.gov.uk

An application form and job description can be accessed via the website, www.stratford.gov.uk, alternatively telephone the 24 hour answering service on 01789 260711, or e-mail sitsvac@stratford-dc.gov.uk.  The minicom number for Elizabeth House is 01789 260747.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Wednesday 22nd May 2019

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 5th June 2019.
